Patents in brief
Chinese
pesticide chemists have developed a microemulsion formulation for a
non-volatile phenoxyacetic herbicide that can be considered as a complex
ester of 2,4-D. Adama presents stable liquid formulations for a
fluoropyrimidinone fungicide that is also not yet commercialised; this
active ingredient is originally patented by Dow AgroSciences.

Book reviews and announcements
The
Chinese publisher Chemical Industry Press has recently released a
series of Chinese-language hard cover books about pesticide research in
China. The eight volumes cover all aspects of pesticides: innovation,
formulation, production, trade, application, environmental risk
assessment and residues.
The new books section of Adjuvants &
Formulations has also a recently published work on deep eutectic
solvents and other (hand)books that can serve as eye-opener or that can
