Facelift for old actives
Old active ingredients provide the desired variation in modes of action. However, the original formulations of these actives do often no longer meet the current requirements. Academics and researchers within companies therefore work hard on contemporary formulations for these classical substances. Adjuvants & Formulations explored the state-of-the-art of some interesting approaches.

Hardly new herbicide common names
The introduction of new active ingredients declines steadily. Especially the number of approved new herbicide common names remains low. SURfaPLUS concludes this after a 21 years spanning inventory of approved ‘common names’ for chemical pesticides.

Patents in brief
Indian formulators seek patent protection for sulphur fertiliser granules as carrier for insecticides, which they have tested against the yellow stem borer in rice. Adjuvants & Formulations also reports about a new abamectin formulation for soil application and nematicidal formulations of fluopyram. In this issue also news about oil-soluble micronutrients and surfactants that reduce the viscosity of seed treatment formulations.

And further in this issue

Zein nanoparticles as eco-friendly carrier systems for botanical repellents.
Surface activity and safety of deamidated zein peptides.
