Adjuvants & Formulations

Bimonthly newsletter for agchem specialists (former Adjuvant Newsletter)

November / December 2015

Adjuvants affect efficacy of biopesticides
Adjuvants can significantly improve the performance of biopesticides. Adjuvants & Formulations presents in this issue a state-of-the-art, based on a presentation given by Hans de Ruiter (SURfaPLUS) at the Future of Adjuvants symposium in Amsterdam, 20 November 2015.

"Future of Adjuvants" symposium highlights the latest in adjuvant and formulation trends
Adjuvants are increasingly prized. Adjuvants are also subject to discussion. With a one-day symposium SURfaPLUS contributes to this exchange of ideas and views and stimulates the development and transfer of adjuvancy knowledge. Eight presenters gave their views on the future of agrochemical adjuvants and formulations. In this issue the highlights and a short retrospective on this well-attended symposium.

Patents in brief
British scientists present solid lipid particles as emulsion stabilisers. With this approach they present a relatively simple and stable alternative to conventional emulsions prepared with emulsifiers. Adjuvants & Formulations also reports about patent pending adjuvants for drift control and improved rainfastness and about a novel seed treatment formulation, about oil-based agrochemical formulations and liquid fertiliser compositions. A urea fertiliser adjuvant with colour indicator is claimed to improve weed control with glyphosate.

Apps: BeeConnected
An adjuvant selector or an application tool – app stores have dozens of useful and interesting applications for mobile devices. In this issue the BeeConnected app, which allows farmers and contractors to let nearby beekeepers know where they have planned to spray crop protection products.
